FAQ

How does a pickleball round robin work?

Every player (or team) plays every other player or team once. In a rotating-partner round robin you switch partners each round and your individual points decide the winner, which is the most popular open play format.

How many players do I need for a round robin?

Four players on one court is the minimum. Eight players on two courts is the sweet spot for a 90-minute session. Odd numbers work: the generator rotates byes fairly.

How many rounds does a round robin take?

With rotating partners and N players you need N-1 rounds for everyone to partner with everyone. For 8 players that is 7 rounds, roughly 90 minutes with games to 11.

Is the round robin generator free?

Yes. It runs in your browser on this page with no account and no download. Nothing is sent to a server.

What if more players show up than the courts can take?

Set the number of courts. The generator seats four per court and rotates the extra players out fairly, so nobody sits twice before everyone has sat once.
